採用獨家的 Plunger-in-Needle（針內推桿式）結構，Hamilton 7000 系列注射器是經典 700 系列的改良型，並被 Hamilton 定位為產品線中唯一的零無效體積（Zero Dead Volume, ZDV）注射器。極細的鎢絲推桿（tungsten plunger wire）延伸至針頭最尖端，發揮樣品最大化利用率（maximizing sample utilization），適用於 0.05 µL ~ 5 µL 的微量分注應用。

產品定位

唯一的零無效體積注射器：原廠定位為 Hamilton 注射器產品線中唯一達成 ZDV 的型號（The only zero dead volume syringe）。
微量級分注：原廠建議分注範圍 0.05 µL ~ 5 µL；標稱容量提供 0.5 / 1 / 2 / 5 µL 共四種規格。
耐高壓注射：針頭與玻璃針筒接合處之密封 ferrule 鎖緊後，可承受最高 6,000 psig 注射壓力（per Hamilton catalog specification）。

選擇 7000 系列規格時，下列原廠敘述提供參考：

針尖樣式 Point Style：原廠提供 #2（22° Bevel，斜角）與 #3（90° Blunt，平頭）兩種針尖。原廠敘述兩種針尖對 GC 注入口墊片穿透效果相當（"both point styles work equally well for septum piercing"），可依使用者偏好選擇；而點樣與微量轉移應用以 #3 平頭針尖效果最佳（"Pipetting and micro-volume transfers are best accomplished with point style #3"）。
使用限制：由於 plunger-in-needle 為精密配合結構，原廠不建議拆卸針頭或推桿（"Due to this plunger-in-needle design, it is not recommended to remove the needle or plunger"）。同時不建議使用於高黏度流體或樣品（"Syringe not recommended for viscous fluids or samples"）。
